Welcome to my E-Course, “How To Become an Affiliate Marketing Guru”. As you can imagine, I have put a lot of work in to this and I am very excited to be “giving back” and helping you and other affiliate marketers get started on your own successful affiliate marketing career. I have purchased a lot of e-books and joined many online courses on affiliate marketing and I am going to incorporate a lot of what I have learned in to this training series. I will be focusing on helping you understand the basic and then more advanced concepts behind the affiliate marketing process and I will show you ways to make more money! I will also REVEAL THE TOP 7 REASONS WHY AFFILIATE MARKETERS FAIL! I have made almost all 7 of these mistakes, so you will definitely want to read this. So let’s get started.
Setting Up Your Acme People Search Engine – How to Make More Money with Acme People Search
In this section I will discuss Acme People Search in more detail and how to set up your Search Engine account to maximize its earnings and then how to set up your affiliate marketing business in general.

Now that you have registered your Acme People Search engine and started the process, you are going to want to complete the 3 step “homework” assignment outlined by Tissa. This is a very simple step by step process, but you are going to want to do it the correct way to maximize your earnings:
Step 1 – Affiliatize
This step is quite simply just joining the 3 affiliate programs and adding your affiliate ID’s in the boxes outlined by Tissa in the set up process. This is how you earn affiliate commissions with your search engine when people perform searches. All of this information is available when you log in to your search engine back office by clicking on the link at the top of the page and clicking on the link that says “How YOURNAME’S Search Engine Makes Money!” The web address for the Acme People Search login page is https://acme-people-search.com/login.php. You will need your affiliate ID and your password to login. I am not going to go in to too much detail here because it is explained beautifully in the back office.
I get calls all the time from people that really don’t know how their search engine works. I usually answer their questions for them, but I am always surprised because there is so much information available in the back office.
One of
the questions I get is, “Is
it safe to give these affiliate companies my Social Security
number?” The
answer is “absolutely”. It is required
for them to pay you your affiliate
commissions. You can give them your
Step 2 - Monetize
I feel
that step 2 is where you can
make or break your Acme People Search marketing success, whether you
are
promoting the search engine or promoting the affiliate marketing
program
opportunity. Since this E-Course is mostly about
Step 2 is where you decide if you want to:
1. Host your search engine at Lunar Pages (this is my number one recommendation and I’ll tell you why in a little bit)
2. Host your search engine at Global Domains International (GDI) (this would be my second choice)
3. Host your search engine at Acme People Search (I really don’t recommend this option)
So why do I think hosting at Lunar Pages is the best option? It offers you the opportunity to do the most with your search engine as you begin to make more money and become more skilled as an affiliate marketer. Just today, I added some content to MY website, because it is MY website. Tissa just does all the work up front and has your site custom built and uploaded for you. It is actually your website. This is why Acme People Search is such a great program. Tissa is literally giving this stuff away. So Lunar Pages offers you the most professional set up, if you do it right. So here is what I recommend:
1. You want to make sure you choose a domain name related to “people searches”. This is where I made a major mistake the first time around. I rushed the process and didn’t really read what I should have and I registered a domain name that was not related to “people search” in any way. I had to buy a new one and I chose, http://People-Search-Site.info.
2. Hosting at Lunar Pages is the only up front expense and it comes out to about $60 for the year and includes a free domain name. This is really a great deal. Not only that, they have a great affiliate program and you can really make a lot of money by promoting their hosting services. More on that later.
3. My feeling is this, if you are not willing to invest and commit to Acme People Search for at least a year, don’t bother. Close this course and walk away from your computer because I am telling you right now, you have to have a long term outlook on Acme People Search or any other affiliate product you choose to promote. There simply is not any “Get Rich Quick” opportunity out there. This is why I consider step to “mandatory” in order to set yourself up for the kind of earnings that are possible ($3000 - $5000 a month or more).
If you just can’t commit to Lunar Pages, then you should join Global Domains International (GDI) right away and get your hosting there. GDI is only $10 a month after a 7 day free trial. GDI is also incorporated in to Acme People Search as another income stream. If you are already with GDI, you are going to want to get another domain name related to “people searches” and get your website hosted there. Again, Tissa will give you all of the instructions. If you are not familiar with GDI, then watch this movie and then sign up. This is the second best option, but not nearly as good as Lunar Pages.
You last option is to have your site hosted at Acme People Search. This is possible, but really will not give you the best opportunity to maximize your earnings. If you have to you have to. Again, just follow the instructions from Tissa. Your search engine will be hosted at something like:

This just doesn’t look good in your advertising because everyone can tell it is an affiliate link and not YOUR own site. A potential searcher or referral will be less likely to click on your link. Your best chance to MAXIMIZE your earnings is to get your OWN domain name and have your OWN website hosted at Lunar Pages. I think I have made that perfectly clear. Now on to Step 3.
Step 3 – Advertise
In this
step, Tissa Godavitarne will
help you maximize your earnings by advertising your site for you

Setting Up Your Home Based Business
- Determine local and state requirements for licensing and zoning regulations. Be sure to check with your local zoning office to find out how the zoning regulations in your area may affect your business plans. Determine if your business requires any licenses and file the necessary forms. This is another way to commit to your business. If you go down to the city office and actually establish your own business, you are going to be less likely to give up. State and local fees vary.
- Rent a
post office box and use that
address for all of your correspondence. Doing this will make
it less
obvious that you are working from home. The professional image you
portray is
very important to your clientele. Places like the
- Install a phone line in your home dedicated to your business. You can get the Magic Jack for $39 a year and you get a dedicated local phone number, virtual voice mail, and call forwarding if you choose. The Magic Jack works off of your internet connection and really is a great value because you can take it anywhere and use it on any computer connected to the internet.
- Organize your work space with great care. Make sure that you have sufficient space to meet your needs. I will give you some time management tips in just a moment
- Keep
excellent records of
entertainment and travel expenses. The Internal Revenue Service (
- And above all, put some of your earnings into a savings account or checking account. You are going to want to put most of your earnings back into your company to pay for even more marketing (PPC).
- Discipline yourself. You must be a self-starter and follow a routine, just as if you were working for any other business. In many cases, you are the only person you can rely on to get the job done.
- Make a daily schedule for yourself and follow it. If you have 1 hour a day, write down a TO DO LIST every night and when it is time to work, make sure you spend that 1 hour a day working on promoting your business, not answering emails, not surfing the web, actually work on promoting your business. Even if your TO DO LIST only has one task, complete that task and then move on to the next one.
- Write down your goals in the following manner:
o 1 Month – what do you want to accomplish in the first month?
o 3 months – What do you want to have accomplished in 3 months? How much do you want to be earning? How will you earn that much? What is your plan to get to that earning threshold?
o 6 Months – Write down exactly where you want to be in 6 months. What would you like to be earning (put an impossible goal and what it would take to get to that level)? Do you want to quit your job? Buy a new car? Do you want to be making enough to replace your current income?
o 1 year – I know it is hard to look this far in the future, but most Affiliate Marketing training programs don’t ask you to complete these tasks. You are more likely to follow through with your plan if you write it down and post it somewhere you will see it each and every day.
My goal is to be earning $30,000 a month by the end of 2009 and I have a plan in place to get to that level. I am not there yet, but I know if I follow my plan, I will get there. Guess what? If I only hit 50% of that number by then, I will be pretty happy. You have to have a long term outlook in place to be really successful and put yourself in a position to become an Affiliate Marketing Guru.
Now that we have all of that out of the way, I will reveal THE TOP 7 REASONS WHY AFFILIATE MARKETERS FAIL!
Mistake #1: Falling Prey To "Information Overload"
If you're a victim of "information overload", it's not your fault. There are just too many self-proclaimed "gurus" out there selling garbage, it's hard to know who to believe. As a result, most aspiring internet marketers get confused and overwhelmed, and fall victim to "paralysis by over-analysis".
That's why I wrote this E-Course -- to give you an overview of what works in affiliate marketing. Just avoid these common online marketing traps and you'll be way ahead of 80% of the people trying to make money online.
Mistake #2: Trying To Compete In An Overcrowded Marketplace (Or, Not Even Having A Viable Target Market In The First Place!)
This is probably the biggest mistake beginners make online. They waste massive amounts of time and money creating what they "think" will be a hot selling product... only to discover that nobody wants to buy it!

Every champion athlete knows that a strong mental focus is paramount to achieving success. Affiliate marketing is no different. You can know all the fancy "how to" techniques in the world, but without the right "success mindset", you'll just find yourself falling victim to procrastination and self-sabotage. This is why creating a plan and working your plan daily is so important and will help you stay on track to meet your income goals.
Mistake #5: Not Knowing How To Build And Nurture A Highly Responsive Email List That Can Provide You With Cash-On-Demand

the #1 mistake
